Paving the way forward

Resilience Camp 2008 is coming ! This year, a new energetic and fresh batch of Sec 3 Temasekians will be continuing the tradition of their predecessors - to survive and persevere in their quest to answer the call to rediscover our natural instincts - to forger a common bond and purpose, the Temasek Way.

To pave the way forward, Temasek's Reslience Camp 2008 Main Committee set off this week from Jan 14 - 16 , 2008 for Jerantut, Pahang @ Malaysia to connect with the vendor and local agencies and work with them in securing the sites and logistics to facilitate another successful start to Resilience Camp 2008.

The Resilience Comm has in the past few days visited the sites and run through the program to be featured in this year's camp. The focus on ensuring safety and furthering the well being of Temaekians has been the basic principle guiding the Resilience Comm. The Comm arrived in Jerantut at 3am on 14 Jan and set off to work, discusing on the program for the recee trip with our vendor and local agencies.

Rising up early on 15 Jan, the Committee worked out the proposed itenary for the 3 main groups which our Temasekians will be assigned to - Explorer(Caving Adventure) , Ranger( Cycling Expedition) and Hunter( Survival). Then it was off to the various sites , starting with the arrival at the Taman Negara Reserve where the team walked the routes through with the guides and vendor, to assess the challenges that our Temasekians would be exposed to and work out both contingency plans and adding refinements to ensure that all activities would be innovative, challenging and safe.

The Resilience Comm also met up with the Orang Asli to discuss with them the survival skills that would be useful and interesting for our urban dwelling Temasekians. New members of the committee were also taken on the routes to learn from the guide on what to expect along the route and assess for themselves the physical challenges so that they could come back to share with teacher ICs and form teachers.

Back at our command centre at Hotel Sri Emas by 11pm, the entire Committee went through the Action and Reviews of today's experience and also refining RAMS with the vendor. The recee program for the 15 January was also worked out and we will update on the happenings tommorow...time to rest the mind and recharge the body.
